Rescue helicopter service based in Nelson, NZ since 1991. We operate across Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough regions 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

From sensory gardens and school projects to our Helicopter House, which has now raised over $750,000 for the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter Trust — this is what Helping Hands is all about. 💚

During May, our crew completed 28 missions across Nelson, Marlborough, Tasman, the West Coast and beyond.
These lifesaving flights included:
🚁 6 winch rescues
🚁 10 inter-hospital transfers
🚁 12 additional emergency missions supporting our communities when they needed us most
Every mission requires a highly skilled crew, specialist equipment, ongoing training, and a helicopter ready to respond at a moment's notice.

New Zealand is now home to the world's first rescue helicopter simulator training facility, giving rescue crews access to cutting-edge training right here at home.
This exciting technology allows pilots, crew and medical teams to train for complex emergency situations in a realistic environment, helping ensure they are prepared for whatever challenges come their way when lives are on the line.
We're proud to be part of an industry that continues to invest in innovation, safety and excellence, all with one goal in mind: providing the very best care and rescue service for our communities.
